With school districts preparing to reopen in September, there is a critical need to provide our facility leaders with timely and useful COVID-19 mitigation strategies. WASBO’s “Reopening Safe and Healthy Wisconsin School Facilities” conference is intended to address that need. We are offering this conference with both in-person and virtual attendance options. In offering in-person attendance, we are fully committed to providing attendees with a safe and healthy learning environment.
To minimize the risk of transmitting the COVID-19 virus, and to respect the health needs of all participants, specific COVID-19 safeguards will be required. These safeguards include a temperature check upon arrival at the conference, wearing a mask throughout the day, physical distancing, use of hand sanitizer, and other precautions. In addition, the conference venue itself will have many mitigation practices in place. We thank you in advance for your patience and cooperation.
WASBO’s four custodial conferences were canceled this summer due to concerns of COVID-19. As an alternative WASBO’s facility leaders wanted to provide and assist school districts in preparing to open schools in the fall. Join us in person or online on July 15, 2020 to ensure you are equipped to open safe and healthy schools! Attendees can choose to attend the conference either in-person or virtually. All sessions will be recorded and provided to attendees after the conference. Sponsorship opportunities are available!
Session topics include:
- HVAC Systems
- Transportation Challenges
- Sanitizers and Cleaning Products
- Communication Plans
|
- Physical Distancing
- Clean Water
- Lessons Learned from Summer School
- Mitigating Risks

WASBO CONFERENCE ATTENDEE NOTICE
COVID-19 REQUIRED SAFEGUARDS
As WASBO begins preparing for in-person conferences, providing attendees with a safe and healthy learning environment is our top priority. To do this well, all participants must follow the safeguards necessary for minimizing transmission of the COVID-19 virus. The safeguards include the following:
Before the Event:
Prepare to attend by monitoring your fever and symptoms before the conference.
Stay home if you have a fever or other symptoms.
Stay home if you have a family member with COVID-19 and follow CDC recommended precautions.
During the Event:
Have your temperature checked upon arrival to the conference.
Wear a mask during the conference. A mask is required and will be provided if you do not have one.
Practice physical distancing as required.
Follow the CDC’s handwashing guidance.
Follow the CDC’s sneezing and coughing guidance.
After the Event:
Monitor your temperature and symptoms to keep yourself and others safe.
If you are uncomfortable with these safeguards, you should not attend in-person. WASBO has created an opportunity to participate virtually.
