Wisconsin Workers’ Compensation Specialist Course
Proper
management and monitoring of Workers' Compensation is a proven method
to minimize premiums and control costs. Through the Workers'
Compensation Specialist course you'll gain an understanding of the ins
and outs of the Law in Wisconsin and learn how to manage premiums and
reduce fraudulent or exaggerated claims. This day-long session will also
provide the tools for your employees to understand their rights and
responsibilities.
The Workers' Compensation Specialist course is designed for agents who
have school districts as clients, and for district administrators,
business managers, facilities directors, and others with supervisory
responsibilities, as well as individuals responsible for risk management
and Workers' Compensation. A variety of topics will be covered in this
one-day course, which will provide agents and school district staff with
practical information that can be put to use immediately.
Topics covered include:
- Workers’ Compensation Statutory Coverage and Benefits
- Workers’ Compensation Policies
- Accident Prevention Services
- Premium Calculation and Management
- Workers’ Compensation Claims' Anatomy and Management
- Early Return to Work

As of October 31, the Wisconsin Workers' Compensation Specialist Course registration is sold-out. If you are interested in attending, please join the waiting list.
The Workers’ Compensation Specialist course comes with 7 insurance CE hours
in Wisconsin. The cost for the session is $185.
Continental breakfast and lunch are
provided for an additional $16 per session as a convenience to
participants as schedule constraints provide very limited time for meals
on your own.
The structure is similar to the CSRM
courses: seven hours of instruction followed by a one-hour (optional)
multiple-choice exam. If the participant passes the exam, he or she will
earn a WCS certificate. This specialist course can be taken by anyone.
CSRM and CISR designees may earn update credit by attending the WCS
course without taking the examination, but successful completion of the
examination is required to earn the WCS certificate.
