Midwest Facility Masters Conference

The Midwest Facility Masters Conference will draw nearly 400 school personnel who are responsible for facilities operations in their school districts; typically from Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri and Wisconsin. The Midwest Facility Masters Conference was created to draw on the best ideas and practices from Midwest school districts to provide safe, clean and healthy schools for students and staff.

The planning committee values the input of their peers as they work to create a professional development schedule that allows for advancement and networking opportunities during the 2021 Midwest Facility Masters Conference November 1-2, 2021 at the Kalahari Resort and Conference Center, Wisconsin Dells, WI. Please complete the form below to nominate a colleague and/or suggest a topic you would like to see presented at the Midwest Facility Masters Conference. Final programming decisions are made by the planning committee. Submissions will be accepted through July 31, 2021.

Selection criteria includes, but is not limited to:

  • presentation fits the educational criteria those responsible for buildings and grounds in the Midwest (typically attendees are from Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin)
  • presentation fits one of these tracks:
    1. Workplace Culture & People Management
    2. Leadership Skills
    3. Safety, Security & Risk Management
    4. Community Partnerships
    5. Infrastructure Management
    6. Sustainability
    7. Long Range Facility Planning

Although all submissions will be considered, the committee has noted the need for sessions specific to the topics listed above and will be prioritizing these topics.  

The committee will begin building the schedule, to include WASBO Facilities Manager Core Certification sessions, prior to reviewing nominations. Nominations will be used to complete the schedule after the committee has filled the sessions they know are needed based on their experience in districts, as well as interactions with their peers.
