From temporary business office support to facilities services to cooperative purchasing programs, CESAs are here for more than curriculum and instruction. Not only might there be services your local CESA can offer, but you can tap into resources from other CESA’s statewide programs to help save money and time as well as to find efficiencies in your operations. This panel presentation will share some of the programs and services available to you as a Business Official from both your local CESA and other CESAs in the state.

Demystifying your Budget in a Post-ESSER and 2023-25 Biennial Budget Era. This session will examine data and trends that preceded the 2023-25 Biennial Budget and provide insight on the impact of the Biennial Budget on district budgets in 2023-24. We will recap the Spring 2024 Referendum results and provide context for statewide operational needs in the Fall of 2024 and 2025. We will also discuss operational planning for Districts in the post- ESSER environment; The goal is to have an interactive session that engages participants through real-time surveys and discussion pertaining to 2023-24 budget practices.

Your presenter will help you determine the proper staffing levels for your school district. You will receive examples of cleaning questions to determine the proper level of cleaning for your school district; these questions can be modified to fit your districts’ needs and usage. Attendees will also receive spreadsheets that you can use to collect your data and input. These sheets will calculate your cleaning time to help you determine if you are overstaffed or understaffed.

In the session, you will be taught how to read and understand electric utility bills. Case studies and real world examples of how schools are using energy data to save monthly on electric bills will be presented.
