So much effort is given towards the first 95% of a capital project – securing the funding, hiring a design and construction team, managing the design process, getting plan approvals and building permits, overseeing the construction of the school, outfitting the building with furniture, fixtures and equipment, opening the school, and keeping your school board informed throughout the process. Too many times the last 5% of the project, those tasks that happen after substantial completion and opening the school, are either rushed, procrastinated or ignored.
