Take this course either in-person at the Wisconsin School Leadership Center in Madison or virtually!
Participants will learn steps to prevent and prepare for a crisis in their school districts.
The curriculum will delve into mitigating, planning and recovery for emergency preparedness to include but not limited to:
- Active Intruder
- Weather Related
- Transportation Incidents
- Community Wide Crisis
The Crisis Prevention & Response course comes with 7 insurance CE hours
in Wisconsin. The cost for the session is $201.
Continental breakfast and lunch are
provided for an additional $21 per session as a convenience to
participants as schedule constraints provide very limited time for meals
on your own.
The structure is similar to the CSRM
courses with seven hours of instruction. This specialist course can be taken by anyone.
CSRM and CISR designees may earn update credit by attending the Crisis Prevention & Response course.

As WASBO begins preparing for in-person conferences and workshops, providing attendees with a safe and healthy learning environment is our top priority. To do this well, all participants must follow the safeguards necessary for minimizing transmission of the COVID-19 virus. The safeguards include the following:
Before the Course:
Prepare to attend by monitoring your fever and symptoms before the course.
Stay home if you have a fever or other symptoms.
Stay home if you have a family member with COVID-19 and follow CDC recommended precautions.
During the Course:
Have your temperature checked upon arrival to the course.
Wear a mask during the course. A mask is required and will be provided if you do not have one.
Practice physical distancing as required.
Follow the CDC’s handwashing guidance.
Follow the CDC’s sneezing and coughing guidance.
After the Course:
Monitor your temperature and symptoms to keep yourself and others safe.
If you are uncomfortable with these safeguards, you should not attend in-person. WASBO has created an opportunity to participate virtually.
This course will provide school leaders and stakeholders with critical information regarding risk and safety. We are confident that WASBO members can safely conduct an in-person conference with comprehensive COVID-19 safeguards in place and practiced by all who attend.
