Understanding the factors that determine your district’s rating is the first step in maintaining, improving or establishing a credit rating. With this knowledge you can identify the potential impacts your district’s decisions could have on its rating. The strength of your district’s credit rating not only impacts the interest cost associated with debt issues, but also serves as an indicator to your community of the financial health of the district. Credit agencies do not just look at credit ratings at the time of a borrowing but also conduct ongoing surveillance of issuers to evaluate their credit health. You will also get answers the common questions such as, “If the District does this will it hurt our credit rating?”, “Which rating agency should the District use?”, “What questions are they going to ask?” and, “Does the District have to answer credit agencies’ surveillance questions even if it is not issuing debt?”

Learn how the Cedarburg School District developed their Long-Range Master Plan (LRMP) to identify and confirm teaching and learning needs to achieve CSD’s vision: to be a premier school district in the country, now and in 5, 10 and 25 years. The LRMP process included a multi-faceted approach to assess the conditions of all the CSD buildings and educational programming to ensure the facilities aligned with current and future curricula. As the youngest CSD students will graduate into the job market of 2031 and beyond, it was imperative to listen to teachers, parents, students, alumni and community to understand their perspectives and thoughts on the evolution of teaching and learning, and how physical learning spaces influence curriculum goals. Our team will share with you the end-product of months of research, community input and strategic planning… all boiled down into a 29-page LRMP that the District’s leadership and community will use as their guide for years to come.
