Under the State of Wisconsin’s hazardous waste regulations, a facility’s generator status is determined by the quantity of hazardous waste generated in a calendar month. On September 1, 2020, Wisconsin adopted Alternative Standards for Episodic Generation which allows very small quantity generators (VSQGs) or small quantity generators (SQGs) to maintain their existing generator category when generating excess hazardous waste because of an episodic event. Under the rule, a facility operating within the episodic generation requirements will be able to avoid potentially more stringent regulations associated with a higher generator category. Because schools are predominantly VSQGs and SQGs, the use of episodic events is an important tool for effective environmental health and safety management in school districts. In this webinar, Julie LaRose, Senior Waste Management Specialist with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, and Lance Gregorich, Environmental Health & Safety Manager with CESA 10, will discuss the regulatory requirements for episodic generation of hazardous waste, strategies for managing episodic events and key resources.

LED technologies are re-defining the role of lighting solutions in schools and making the right choice has become very confusing. This session will cover lighting technologies, LED – and where this technology is currently moving.
