In addition to exceptional learning, the WASBO Custodial and Maintenance Conference also includes:

  • Facility Manager Certification Program Course Credits in Module 1Custodial Operations - (sessions offered are Building a High Performing Team, Custodial Supervision & Evaluation, Performing Custodial Staffing Levels & Assessments and Product & Equipment Selection)
  • The Safety Room Challenge - compete with other custodial teams to identify safety concerns
  • Vendor exhibits and equipment demonstrations
  • Networking with peers from districts in your region as well as across the state, and team building with your own staff
  • The opportunity to visit another district's school

Registration is only $35 per individual and includes continental breakfast, lunch, materials and attendance certificate. Send your entire team!

    Supervision of employees is one of the primary responsibilities of buildings and grounds professionals. This segment of the Certification Program examines the tools you must have to supervise custodial staff. The instruction also explores the steps of progressive discipline and looks at the requirements of "Due Process."

    Your presenter will help you determine the proper staffing levels for your school district. You will receive examples of cleaning questions to determine the proper level of cleaning for your school district; these questions can be modified to fit your districts’ needs and usage.  Attendees will also receive spreadsheets that you can use to collect your data and input. These sheets will calculate your cleaning time to help you determine if you are overstaffed or understaffed.
