The WASBO team is comprised of association professionals who are ready to serve. We are all committed to our members and are driven to fulfill the goals and mission of the organization, which is to provide professional development, to foster a network of support and to advocate for funding that ensures outstanding educational opportunities for all children in Wisconsin. Mike Barry

Executive Director



The WASBO Board hired Mike Barry as the WASBO Executive Director in July 2019. Prior to joining WASBO Mike served the Madison Metropolitan School District as the Assistant Superintendent for Business Services for 7 years. He previously served for several years in similar roles with the Oconomowoc Area School District and the Pewaukee Public Schools. Mike earned an MA from UW-Madison in 1988, an accounting degree from DePaul University in 1984 and became a CPA in 1985. Mike has been a member of WASBO since 1989.

Kaitlyn Peters

Professional Development and Member Services Coordinator


Kaitlyn joined WASBO in August 2015. She graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Stout, where she majored in Hotel, Restaurant, and Tourism Management. She previously worked at the Holiday Inn Madison at the American Center, where she was the Catering Sales Manager.

Accountant


Candie joined WASBO in September 2020 after working as comptroller for the Madison Metropolitan School District for 30 years.

Jeanne Deimund

Associate Executive Director



Jeanne joined WASBO in October 2002 as professional development coordinator. Jeanne became Associate Director in 2015. Jeanne is a graduate of Southeast Missouri State University where she majored in accounting and finance. Prior to joining the WASBO staff she served as the Business Operations Supervisor for Liberty Public Schools in Liberty, Missouri. While in Liberty she was also a member of Missouri ASBO.

Ryan Silvola

Marketing and Communications Coordinator



Ryan joined WASBO in July 2019. He graduated from Augustana College in Illinois, where he majored in Multimedia Journalism and Mass Communication and Women's and Gender Studies. Prior to joining the WASBO staff he served as a Reporter/Designer for the Beloit Daily News in Beloit, Wisconsin. He also served as Marketing Coordinator for Quilt Addicts Anonymous.

Sue Schnorr

Mentorship Coordinator


Sue began her role as Mentorship Coordinator with Jill Bodwin in July of 2020 after taking over for WASBO's first Mentorship Coordinator, Mary Jo Filbrandt. She previously as Executive Director of Business Services at Oshkosh Area School District for seven years. For more on the mentorship program, contact Sue at [email protected].

Tina Hafeman

Special Projects Coordinator


Tina joined WASBO in 1997 and worked as Associate Executive Director until 2015, when she transitioned into a consulting role. Tina is a graduate of UW-Madison, having majored in Elementary Education. She is a 2013 recipient of the Tina Hafeman Friend of WASBO Award, which was renamed in her honor. In July 2016, she became the Accounting and Technology Coordinator. In 2022, she moved into the role of Special Projects. Her work is mostly done internally.

Anne Chapman

Research Director



As the Wisconsin Association of School Business Official’s first research director, Anne Chapman leads WASBO’s mission to ensure equity and outstanding educational opportunities for Wisconsin students through nonpartisan policy research, analysis, and advocacy.

Prior to joining WASBO, Chapman served as senior researcher with the Wisconsin Policy Forum where she oversaw the Forum’s education research portfolio. Her research on K-12 education focused on state and local policy and finance, special education funding, English learners, arts education, and the educator workforce.

Chapman holds a Master of Public Affairs from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, La Follette School of Public Affairs. She is a member of the Association for Public Policy Analysis and Management and Association for Education Finance and Policy.

Kristin Hauser

Membership Coordinator



Kristin joined WASBO in April 2013. She is a graduate of Western Washington University and majored in Communications. Kristin has worked with several non-profits in the state of Washington as Program Manager, Special Events Coordinator and Community Outreach and lived in the Northwest for 10 years, before returning to her home state of Wisconsin.

Jill Bodwin

Mentorship Coordinator


Jill began her role as Mentorship Coordinator with Sue Schnorr in July of 2020 after taking over for WASBO's first Mentorship Coordinator, Mary Jo Filbrandt. She previously worked at CESA 7 Head Start, the Denmark School District, the Pulaski School District, and Shawano School District in Business Manager roles. DyShaunn Simmons

Office Assistant


DyShuann joined the WASBO staff in 2015. He assists WASBO staff with conference preparations and other administrative duties.
